The Hobbit – Michael Hague Illustrated Edition with Signed Original Dragon Drawing – Houghton Mifflin
The 22nd printing of the 1984 Michael Hague illustrated edition, with an original signed dragon drawing across the title page.

This large-format Houghton Mifflin edition of The Hobbit reproduces Michael Hague's richly detailed colour illustrations throughout. The number line ending in 22 identifies this copy as the twenty-second printing of the edition first published in 1984.

Its exceptional feature is the full-page original pen drawing of a long-tailed dragon sweeping across the title opening, signed by Michael Hague beneath the image. The black pictorial dust jacket and illustrated boards are present, and the photographed interior appears clean and bright.

A unique association copy in which Michael Hague transforms the title page into an original work of Tolkien art.
